God Who Calms the Storm

"…He arose and rebuked the wind... And the wind ceased and there was a great calm" – Mark 4:39

A large group of people were traveling at high altitude in an airplane. Suddenly, the airplane became unstable due to a malfunction. Everyone on board screamed in fear. They began to pray as they knew. But only a little girl was playing with her toy without any anxiety. A passenger nearby asked her, "Daughter, aren't you afraid?" She replied, "Why should I be afraid? My father is the one who is flying this plane. He will surely take us safely to where we need to go."

We have so much faith in our earthly father. It is difficult for us to trust the God who created us. That day, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let us cross to the other side." He got into a boat. (Mark 4:35) At that time, a strong wind arose, and the boat was filled with waves. Jesus was asleep in the stern of the boat, resting his head on a pillow. At that time, the disciples asked Jesus Christ a life-threatening question. "Lord, don't you care that we are perishing?" Those who had seen the miracles he had done did not believe in him and asked this question. Jesus got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and they were calm.

We often ask God the same question. But Jesus Christ does not get angry, but asks, "Why are you afraid?" We must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is traveling with us in the boat of our life. When we are in His arms, we can be at peace even in the midst of the storm. Let us continue our journey of life with the faith that my Lord will protect me. Do not be troubled by the circumstances and the situation we are in at this moment. If we believe, God will do great things for us, even if it is great turmoil.
