Stand for the Lord

"…a lion met him on the road and killed him;... and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the corpse" - 1 Kings 13:24

In the verses from 1 Kings 13: 1 - 32, we should pay attention to what kind is God , what kind was the prophecy , what kind was the prophet, and what kind was the donkey helping him. The king, who heard the prophecy against him, was angry, and stretched out his hand against the prophet, saying, "Seize him." Immediately the king's hand became so numb that it could not be lifted. Immediately he pleaded with the prophet. When the prophet prayed to God, his hand was restored to its former condition. The king saw him and said, "Come to me and I will give you a reward."

The one who should be careful tells the king what God has told him in secret. (1 Kings 13:8-9) Hearing this, the local prophet in the city blocked his way and said, "God said to call you to eat bread in my house." Immediately, the prophet who came from did not stand with what God spoke to him, but because he obeyed the old prophet and disobeyed God's word, he looked at him (21-23) and said, "A lion will kill you." "Because you have not kept the commandment that the Lord commanded you, and have transgressed the word of the Lord, your dead body will not come to the grave, says the Lord." And so the lion killed him. The dead prophet's donkey was standing near his body.

My dear children of God! The truths we can learn from the above scripture are how we act in the matter that God tells us to keep His word. Do we obey? Or do we transgress? If we obey, we will escape from the coming judgment. Even though the lion killed its master, the donkey does not fear that the lion will kill him too, but risks its life for its master. What kind of people are we for our Lord Jesus, the Father? We have learned a good lesson from this donkey. “Stand for the Lord” May the Lord bless us!
