New Purpose

“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men" - Mark 1:17

Jacob Davis was a tailor who lived in the 1800s. In those days, the pants of gold miners would tear very quick. So to solve this problem, he bought the cloth used to make tents. The cloth was a heavy, thick cloth that did not tear easily. He sewed pants suitable for workers from that cloth. That was the day when blue jeans were born. They have become a favourite garment for many people to this day. This happened because one man gave a new shape to a tent cloth.

Simon Peter and his friends were ordinary fishermen fishing in the Sea of Galilee. Jesus Christ came and said to them, " Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men" and gave them a new purpose and a new beginning. This new purpose changed their lives. Jesus taught them everything. God touched the hearts of people through them. They took the power of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection to the world.

Beloved! Like Jesus' disciples, we who know the love and salvation of Christ should also take it as gospel to the people of the world who do not know it. A small tract or a new testament that we give will make a difference in their lives and purposes. Many such testimonies can be told. Tracts have saved so many people who wanted to commit suicide and die because of the problems in their lives. It has given them a new purpose to live and kept them alive. If that person going to commit suicide does not get tract at that right time, what is the condition of that soul? Let us think. Let us do what we can for God. Let our hearts be filled with the love of God. Let us share the love of Jesus with our neighbours and everyone else . Let the good news of Jesus Christ transform them into new creations and serve as a step to receive a new purpose. Let us pray! Let us give!! Let us work!!!
