Gospel Through Music

"…of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne..." - Rev. 7:9

A missionary wanted to minister among the Nagas. The British government at that time advised him to go with police protection. Realizing that if he went that way, the preaching of the gospel would not be successful, he went into Nagaland with a Bible in one hand and a musical instrument in the other. The Nagas ran around him with sticks in their hands, shouting, "Go back, you servant of Queen Victoria." They threatened him, "If you take one step, your life will be in danger." The missionary smiled and picked up the musical instrument and began to sing in the Naga language. The Nagas threw down their sticks and were mesmerized by the music. When the song ended, they said, "Sing another song." He sang, and the delighted villagers took him away, saying, "Come to our village and teach everyone this song." The way for the ministry was opened. Many accepted Christ.

In the Bible, in John chapter 4, Jesus Christ speaks to the Samaritan woman, asking her, "Are you thirsty?" He points out her immoral life in a civilized manner, answers her questions, and opens her spiritual eyes. She who came to draw water left her water jar and went into the village, saying, "A man told me everything I ever did. Come and see him. Is this the Christ?" The villagers went out and came to Jesus Christ. They asked for instruction. They asked him to stay with them. Jesus Christ stayed there for two days. Many Samaritans believed in him. If a woman who lived a wrong life, who was afraid of the villagers and came to draw water at noon, when she met Jesus Christ, she boldly went into the village, witnessed without shame, and led the villagers to Jesus, how essential and our duty is to lead others to Christ!

As we read in Revelation, we see that a great multitude of people, from all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, stood before the Lamb. Even the dragons who kill and eat people need Jesus. Both Jews and Samaritans need him. Therefore, let us put aside our likes and dislikes and love everyone. Let us preach the gospel to everyone according to the talent that God has given us.
