The excellence of prayer

They said, "Let us be unceasing in prayer and in the ministry of preaching the word of God." - Acts 6:4

Two servants of God went to minister in a foreign town. It is their custom to stay and serve in any town they go to. One of them prays for five minutes and lies down. The other prays all night long. This was happening every day. “I pray for five minutes and sleep immediately after prayer, but I see you kneel down and pray all night. What do you pray for so long? What do you pray for ?” he asked. He replied “ I resigned from my good job. So I pray that my future wife will understand this, work together with me, and run together according to God's will,” 

Similarly, in the scriptures, Jacob, a man of God, was afraid that his brother Esau would put him in danger, so he fought with God all night and prayed, "... I will not let You go unless You bless me!" (Genesis 32:26), he fought with God and received the blessing. Beloveds, According to John 14:14, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." Jacob got what he prayed the whole night for, according to God’s will.

Yes, dear ones! Whatever we ask, God will surely do in our lives. But do we pray all night? Do we spend more time in prayer? What kind of people are we? If the time we spend in prayer is less, we cannot expect great things from God. According to the verse, "What is impossible for man is possible for God", we should receive everything from God through prayer and become praying children. And witness miracles. If we cling to the promise that God has given us and stand firm in prayer, we can see the excellence of prayer. God bless you.
