“…for we are not ignorant of his (Satan) devices.” – 2 Corinthians 2:11
A Christian traveler had a long journey, to feed himself for his hunger and wished to take rest for few hours. In a place there was a pool and trees were situated there. In the shadow of tree, he opened her food package and started to eat. On that way another traveler came with severe hunger stretched his hands and said “Love others as yourself” and asked for a handful of food. But the man who had the food said, “Don’t lust other’s things” and started to eat turning to other side.
Though it seemed funny it has deep meaning that we can share on. Both of them used the Bible verses. But one man used was on the right sense. And the other man used was on the wrong sense that we must find out. “Love others as yourself.” verse seemed right in the sense of helping. And other verse, “Lust not other’s things” is misquoted. That is though the food seemed mortal, it won’t yet get into the heart and mind (thoughts) (Mark 7:19) Yes, regarding the food serving, “Love others as yourself” is correct; and quoting the verse “Lust not other’s things” is in the wrong sense.
Using misquoting the verse is the way of Satan. In the direct way of temptation/test of Satan against Jesus with many scriptural verses stirs up Jesus to wrong use/misuse the words of scripture. But Jesus Christ quotes those verses and defeats Satan.
So, we must learn to use the scriptural verse in the right sense. For that we must study the scriptural verse in an essential manner. Then only the scriptural verses will operate as conquering sword of spirit.
