Don't think like this

"Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished" - Prov. 16:5

There was a beautiful rose garden. Colorful roses were blooming in it. One rose was very beautiful and its colour was unique to see. It was planted slightly away from the other roses. So proud of itself! Always looked down on other roses. A rose in it said, "Friend, all are equal in God's creation, why do you think so highly of yourself? If you are like this, God will not like it." One day a strong storm started blowing. Then the lonely rose began to lie down. Then a rose in the crowd stretched out her hand and said, "Take my hand." Do you want me to hold your hand? He asked arrogantly. Within seconds it was snatched away and disappeared.

Dear beloved who are reading this! Similarly, in the Bible, King Ahab went to war with King Jehoshaphat of Judah. Ahab ignored God's word and trusted in his own strength. Although Ahab was arrogant and had committed sins against God, when he went to war with Jehoshaphat by his decision, he was killed by someone who unknowingly strung a bow and shot an arrow. He thought that he would go to war in disguise. His bravery was the weapon to kill him. This can be read in today's scripture. Hasn't the saying that anyone who is proud is an abomination to the Lord, and even if he joins hand in hand, he will be punished, has it come true in Ahab's life?

Child of God, proud thinking is an abomination before God. A lofty mind can lead us straight to destruction. Yes, before destruction comes we will mend our ways and put away proud speech, views, and behaviour. Let us escape God's wrath and receive His mercy.
