Birds and woodcutter

"...Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother" - Zechariah 7:10

Mani lived with his family in a small village. He survived by cutting firewood and selling it every day. There was a big mango tree in that forest where he used to rest every day. Birds, squirrels and bees lived in it. Mani also cuts firewood and goes to seek the shade of that mango tree to rest. Eventually all the creatures became his friends and gave him fruits to eat every day.

One day the village farmer called Mani and said I need good logs. He said, "Cut a big tree of the size of two bullock carts, and I will pay a lot of money for it." After saying that Mani left, he went to the forest and started looking for the tree. The farmer, who was searching and wandering, could not find any tree as he had asked, so he got tired and went to the mango tree to rest. While sitting under the tree, an idea came to him. Why should I not cut this mango tree? he cut down that mango tree and gave it to the farmer, thinking that he could earn a lot of money. Immediately, the mango tree said, "Oh man! Why are you cutting me? How many people are resting in my shade. Why yourself has also rested in my shadow every day? How many other creatures are living with nests. Please don't cut it." Mani did not listen to anything. Soon the birds and squirrels came and cried, "Oh man, please don't cut. We picked as much fruit as you want. We gave you as much honey as you want. Just don't cut the tree." But Mani, who was merciless, was cutting the tree without paying attention to anything. Then a branch snapped and fell down. Inside the nest on the branch, three chicks fell and died. A chick fought for its life. Immediately the mother bird flew around the chicks and screamed, "O man, how much we have helped you. You have killed my children unjustly." Seeing this, Mani's heart broke and he decided that "I thought that I had thought of destroying the beings who helped me and loved me for a small amount of money. He apologized to them and decided that no matter how much money he get, he will not do such a mistake."

What children! You should never think of harming those who have loved you and helped you. Ok come on!
