Everything belongs to God.

 

"…For the world is Mine, and all its fullness" - Psalm 50:12

 

I used to read the scriptures day and night and then go to sleep. One day a dream: It was piled high with gold, silver, coral, pearls, diamonds, vitreous stones, and many other precious things. On the other side, a very ordinary person was standing. Between him and the objects was a crowd of people. I was one among the crowd! He looked at the crowd and said, "Mine is the earth and its fullness!" On that side the prices have increased and on this side he said, "Choose whichever you like and own it." Crowds of people ran towards the objects. In a few seconds there was shouting, fighting, bickering, chaos, and tumult. I was standing still! He looks at me, why are you standing? Go take what you like. My heart longed to possess Him who said, "Mine is the earth and its fullness." I woke up from the dream.

 

In the days when Jesus lived, he entered a village. There a woman named Martha received him in her house. He had a sister named Mary. She sat at Jesus' feet and listened to His words. Martha was very upset about doing the household work. Mary was commended by the Lord as saying, "The only thing that was necessary was that Mary choose the good part that did not leave her."

 

Beloved, the earth is the Lord's and all that is in it. In him all things were created. Everything rests in Him. Materialistic people do not know the real Jesus. Worldly desire robs us of the blessings from Jesus. The knowledge of Jesus is the most precious treasure we possess. So, sit at His feet and seek the things that are above Jesus. Let us act as those who realize that incorruptible eternal life is reserved for us in the heavens.
