Don't talk about me

 

"…Christ lives in me;…" - Galatians 2:20

 

Old age began to take its toll on William Carey. The body started to wobble a bit due to years of hard work. In this case, a young missionary named Alexander Duff came to India. He often visited William Carey and praised Carey's tremendous sacrifice. Once Carey said to Duff, "My dear friend, you often sing praises of me. Speak nothing of me after I am dead, but only of Carey's Saviour."

 

God did wonderful things in the scriptures and through Paul, some of them are:

 

1) In Lystra Paul healed a drunkard.

 

2) The Lord opened Lydia's heart through Paul's teaching.

 

3) He chased a evil spirit from a woman with a sign-telling disorder.

 

4) At Ephesus the disciples received the Holy Spirit when hands were laid on them.

 

5) As soon as Paul's bandages and clothes were applied to the sick, the diseases were cured and the evil spirits fled.

 

6) When the magicians heard Paul's preaching, they burned their books worth fifty thousand pieces of silver.

 

7) Raised dead Eutychus to life.

 

8) A viper snake bit Paul on Malta Island and there was no damage.

 

9) When Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises in the prison at midnight, the prison doors were opened and everyone's shackles came off.

 

Beloved in Christ, even though so many miracles happened through Paul, he was determined that it was Christ and not him. He said I am a sinner and a major sinner. How are we doing in our lives? Are we bragging about ourselves? Or are we talking about Jesus the Saviour? Let's think about it.
