Though it tarries. . .

 

"...Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry" - Habakkuk 2:3

 

A saved woman continued to pray for her unsaved husband. But that prayer was never answered. There was no sign of her husband being saved either. One day the woman lost her husband in a car accident. On the one hand, the grief of losing her husband, on the other, the disappointment that her prayers were not heard. She forgot the scriptures, abandoned prayer, and went far away from the Lord. Times have rolled on. After five years, she met a friend along the way. The friend told her. On the day your husband died in an accident, I got a lift in his car and spent a few hours with him. I spoke of my testimony and the Lord's love. He listened carefully. On the way he stopped his car and confessed his sin and prayed with tears. I saw the joy of salvation on his face as I got out of the car. But that same day I heard that he had gone to the Lord's feet in a car accident. He said that only today I got chance to tell you this. The lady's happiness was beyond measure. She returned tearfully to the love of God.

 

In the scriptures, Abraham was blessed by God at the age of 75 with the promised offspring. Abraham knew that Sarah's pregnancy had died of old age, but he waited. God gave birth to Isaac at the age of 100. Likewise, Elijah's servant Elisha received a double blessing, but 13 miracles happened to Elisha. One boon remained. Eliza died. But when Elisha laid the dead boy in his grave (2 Kings 13:21), he came back to life. God's blessings are fulfilled even if delayed.

 

Dear ones, I have been praying for many days. Are you worried that God's promises have not been fulfilled? God's plan for you will not change. In due time your eyes and ears will hear, and your heart will be filled with wonder. Don't get discouraged. You will see miracles. Alleluia!
