Arise and shine

 

"Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you" - Isaiah 60:1

 

Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, John Kennedy, who were the presidents of the United States of America, were lifted up because of the union with God in their spiritual life, rose and shined with unfading glory even today.

 

Thousands of missionaries have risen up and shined all over the world! Their good deeds are bright with unfading fame even when many have disappeared.

 

In the Old Testament of the Bible, those who rose up for God and shined is listed as believers in the 11th chapter of Hebrews are written by the Spirit. Following them, the believers of this day shine with Jesus Christ as the light in their hearts. Those who rise and shine, guard their own souls, guard the souls of others.

 

World famous photographer named "Kevin Carter" won Nobel equivalent prize for best photograph. Those who saw the photo began asking questions from all over the world about what happened behind it, and unable to answer the question, Kevin Carter committed suicide two months after receiving the prize. He wrote this as reply, "Forgive me profusely because the photo I took was of a little girl in Sudan who looked like a skeleton. Not far from that little girl, a scavenging vulture was sitting. This little girl was one of the crowd dying of hunger and thirst. I did not take any effort to save her." Instead of doing it, I valued photography as important," he wrote and ended his life. Yes, the devil extinguishes our lamp when our thoughts are human and not Godly. But God wants us to rise and shine.

 

Today we also preach beautifully about Satan waiting to devour someone. No effort is made to save people from him. Let us live like Jesus who prayed for Peter, "I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail." Let's light the world.
