Why to be idle
"…Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments." - Psalm 119:73
Let's say you are the owner of a huge house. Let us also assume that you have many servants under you. You are required to travel abroad for a specified reason. So, you set out with strict and commanding orders to your servants. But many of your servants were not doing the work you told them to do. Because you were not at home and were enjoying themselves. Only a few were faithfully doing the work assigned to them. After hearing all these incidents, you come back home. How do you feel about them now?
In today's scripture, the master gave five talents, two talents, and one talent to his servants according to their abilities and went on a journey. A man who got a talent dug the ground and buried it in th and left it idly idle. The other two multiplied it. After a certain period, when the master came and asked the first two, he said, "True and faithful servant." But he who got a talent and buried it was left (lazy idler) in a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Beloved! God created us for the purpose of doing His will! All God's creations do His will. Except for most humans. But we are idle without knowing his will. We are living in an age where the second coming of Jesus Christ can happen anytime. All the signs for it are almost fulfilled. Only arrival is delayed. Why the delay? Because he wants no one to perish but repent. When will we realize that we are Christian people who know all these things. Because we have forgotten that we are living among many people who do not even know the first coming of Jesus Christ? Do we remember the last commandment given by Jesus Christ? What answer will we give to Jesus Christ at His return? From now on we should not be idle! Let's start. Let's preach the gospel to everyone. We shall make everyone His disciples. Amen
