Eye opened
"I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help?" - Psalm 121:1
A blind man arrives in a new town for hos living, in spite of begging many houses before he could not get any food. He grew hungry and felt life deaf ears. Stumbling on the ground with his stick, he climbed ten steps to a big house and touched a big pillar, "These rich people will surely feed me” he thought and shouted "Mother, mother give food". It was actually a dilapidated bungalow. An old man who lived nearby noticed that this blind man was screaming with great hunger and said, "Oh my god, this young blind man looks like my son. So, I will give food.” From that day on, he used to come to the same big house every afternoon, sit down and beg, and the old man would feed him.
Then one day the elder admitted the boy to a free eye treatment camp in a neighboring town. After the treatment, he miraculously regained his sight. On the day of removing the blindfold, he wanted to see the Elder who had helped him regain his sight. But he didn't come. He went to his town in search of him. Couldn't find the house. As before, with his eyes closed, he stomped around and found a ten-step house. He begged loudly as before to find out who would have fed him and helped him get his sight. Hearing his voice, the old man ran and embraced him, seeing him come into sight. "You shall not be any more, you shall be my son," he accepted in his house.
As mentioned in this story, even today many of us are like a blind beggar, trusting many people and wandering around looking for good in many places, but the merciful father does not ignore us and gives us the benefits we need. When our eyes are opened through the scriptures the benefits do not come from where we believe. God has nourished us so far. We understand the conclusion that He is our true Father, and we no longer need to wander anywhere. The Lord is the source of all good things! He changes us who are called beggars to be the children of God.
Yes, we will read the scriptures daily and strive to live as children of Jesus Christ, the source of all good things. Amen!
