Mindful answer

 

"Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold Is a wise rebuker to an obedient ear" - Proverbs 25:12

 

Ramu has been working in an office for 25 years. So, he and his superior were always together. The superior had a desire to somehow place Ramu in a higher position. One day the superior asked Ramu to come to the office next day at four o clock in the morning. After saying ok, Ramu went home and fell asleep. Ramu did not wake up at four o'clock the next morning. He went to the office as usual. His superior asked him why he not come. Without even thinking, Ramu said, "I forgot and fell asleep." This response angered the superior. Because of this he was not given the high rank that was due to him.

 

My dear, one answer changed one's life. We should also think about every answer we give in our life and speak according to present situation and with wisdom. Even in the scriptures, in Nehemiah 2:4,5 we see Nehemiah praying and answering the king's question. For this we see that Nehemiah found favor in the king's eyes. Nabal's rash response cost him his life. Even Joseph wisely says that God, not me, will give the auspicious answer. Two groups were always around to find fault with Jesus Christ. He answered all their puzzling questions with great wisdom and calmness.

 

Likewise, our response should be wise and humble. Our answer must be the word that the Lord gives. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A slow answer turns wrath." Our response should not be hurtful or disrespectful to others. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. What does this mean? If I speak wisely on a problem, my life will be saved and I will be blessed, otherwise I will be punished. The good that should be obtained will also be missed. So, let's always pray and respond depending on God. Amen.
