There is a reward for the effort

 

"…and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge" - Ruth 2:12

 

A king was traveling through the forest in his chariot. On the way he saw two horses. After a few days the king's servants took the horses to the palace and trained them. The training was very difficult and they could not bear it and ran away into the forest. The forest was more dty than usual. Without rain, all the grasses in the forest were dried up. The horses became thin due to lack of food. They regretted thinking that if they had trained a little harder in the palace, they would have got good food.

 

In the scriptures we can see that the result of those who gave themselves to fight for Christ was blessed and wonderful. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were men of knowledge, wisdom, and good physique. They worshiped only their God and intended to live by worshiping Him alone. For this came hardships like a fiery furnace. Yet they stood zealously for God. They stood bravely saying that God is able to rescue them, and it doesn't matter if he did not rescue them. As a result, all the people in that kingdom, from the king, came to know God. If they were afraid of the fiery furnace and retreated, the kingdom would not have known the Lord. Today we need those who stand firm in the Lord and do not back down from tribulation and trials. Jesus Christ says, "There is tribulation in the world. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Christ, who overcame the world, has placed in us, His children, the power to overcome. So, he encourages us to overcome them too.

 

Children of God, who are reading this, those who are ready to endure and strive for Christ in this worldly life are shining like stars. The gospel was preached to us because many missionaries stood firm even in tribulation for Christ. Yes, there is reward for efforts in this world and the after life. Let us therefore endure all things for Christ's sake, and labor for his kingdom, and receive the fruit.
