Daily Devotion (English) – 08.05.2024

Humility precedes awakening

"…for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted" - Luke 18:14

Various philosophies are spoken by all walks of life in the world. There are some epithets in the Scriptures as well. "Pride goes before destruction" (Proverbs 16:18) "Pride goes before a fall" Lucifer is a symbol of this. He who has fallen from pride, has been doing many tricks to make us fall from pride.

The kings of Judah and Israel were exalted when they humbled themselves. When they ruled supremely, they were humiliated and destroyed. All these things are written for us in scriptures.

As Christians we must become disciples, if we want to see revival. Act for Jesus. We who are engaged in the construction of God's kingdom must work for the name of Jesus to be exalted regardless of status, name or fame.

The people of the world do not care if one eye is lost by me, but they act with competitive zeal to want both eyes to be lost by the enemy. But we can see revival only if we work like John to "be little and he may be exalted." We can become like John the Baptist who will win the people of the world with his labour and prayer, lets unite for the second coming like John who cultivated the hearts of people before the first coming of Jesus.

What made US President George Washington the first president and the first class president? He was the Commander-in-Chief of the United States before becoming President. One day he went on horseback to see the soldiers training and the work they were doing in disguise. Then a warrior was working hard on his subordinates supervision. Washington stepped in to help the hero, who was struggling to roll a large roller. He said let's help the hero who does the job. To that, the hero who assigned the job said, I am a job assigner, not a worker. Immediately George Washington rolled the rolling log and said before leaving, if you need help with work like this, call me. where are you? who are you? He asked. To which he said, "I am George Washington, Commander-in-Chief." The hero who got the job prostrated himself and asked for forgiveness. Jesus sees us too. He calls us to humble ourselves, to work, to pray, to give sacrificially, to remove our pride that hinders awakening. Are you ready?
