Foundation

 

"Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands;…" - 2 Timothy. 2:19

 

Born and raised in Canada, missionary Jonathan Goforth was the main cause of revival in China in the 20th century. He recited psalms flawlessly at the age of five. Desires to memorize Bible verses and recite them to someone. And at an early age he sought the Lord more and more. He lived as a devoted Christian. The burden of soul weighed heavily on him. Devoted to go to China as a missionary through a book written by Hudson Taylor, he went to China with his wife and children. Only the scriptures and prayer were his crutch and comfort. China's poor sanitation began to affect him and his family. She lost her first child to anemia. After that they lost their five children one after the other and they were inconsolable as husband and wife. However, they did not leave the ministry or the Lord, but steadfastly served for Jesus and finished their journey. Many Chinese were saved by Goborth's ministry. Even in a situation where everything was lost, their foundation was on Christ.

 

David and his men returning from the battle, on the third day they found the city of Ziklag burned with fire, and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. David was the reason. All the people said that they should stone him because of their sons and daughters. David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

 

Beloved, David made himself strong because his foundation was in the Lord. As a result of the consolidation, David returned everything without missing anything. Let's think about what our foundation is on today. Be it money, be it material, be it your favorite people! We will dedicate ourselves to build our lives on the foundation of Christ. Then problems like storms will not attack us. Let's do something for God. As long as our foundation is solid, we can become a great house.
