We are with Christ

 

"I have been crucified with Christ;…" - Galatians 2:20

 

One day, a man was walking on the beach, he had no money nor comfort, having searched for job in many places, but was unable to find it. As he walked by the beach, a bottle hit on his feet. When he saw it, there was a letter folded inside. It read, "I will bequeath my entire estate to the lucky recipient of this bottle and to my lawyer. Both will share equally." It was written and kept by Daisy Singer Alexander, one of the owners of Singer Sewing Mission. He wrote this on a bottle in the river Thames in London 12 years ago. Twelve years later a man found it on a beach which was in the hands of an impoverished man named Jack Urm. It made him very rich overnight. Look how amazing.

 

In Paul's epistle to the Galatians, we read, "I have been crucified with Christ, yet I live; it is no longer me, but Christ who lives in me" (Galatians 2:20). In Galatians, another verse says, "Those who belong to Christ have crucified their flesh and its lusts." (Galatians 5:24) To be more understandable, it means that those who have Christ will leave nothing for their own desires for Jesus who hung on the cross.

 

Dear friends reading this, Daisy Singer left her fortune in a bottle as her will. Because she cannot take any wealth with her when she dies. Similarly, Jack Urm, cannot carry his wealth. This worldly wealth ends with this world. No matter how great the wealth, one cannot take it with him when he dies. Whatever we have done for Christ remains with us forever. So let us give up our desires for Christ and act.
