My Redeemer lives

 

"For I know that my Redeemer lives…" - Job 19:25

 

Our house is in the school premises in Thisayanvilai. Noisy at night. It was my practise to sit in a chair with a tube light in the back. One day there was no one at home and at seven o'clock in the evening I was sitting alone on a chair. Suddenly "what will you do if a snake comes and bites you?" A voice inside me said. I thought of the voice as a delusion of the mind. Soon the telephone rang. When I went and picked it up, my son spoke from abroad. He said that he can speak only on Sundays because he had time on others day. After speaking, when I sat down on a chair outside, a long shiny snake darted out from under the chair. My Redeemer lives. I praised him that he is with me to protect me.

 

Hagar called him "the God who sees me." Yes, do we believe that God is the God who sees all our hurts, problems, and struggles and helps us through them all? Do we know that the one who sees our good deeds and gives us results? At the same time, it God that He sees the evil thoughts of our hearts and all the evil deeds that result from them?

 

Next he is a quiet listener. He observes the speaking of his children closely. So we should be careful in our conversations and words. What we should be excited about is that He hears our prayers. Next he is the one who speaks and answers our prayers. He advises and guides us in our worldly, spiritual and ministry affairs by speaking through scriptures, divine messages, dreams, visions, intuitions, personal situations. When he prays for those who do not know God, he speaks to them and saves them. If we begin each day by reading the scriptures, " For I know that my Redeemer lives,. . ."(Job 19:25), our faith can be strengthened and we can progress in the Christian life.

 

As Mary Magdalene and the other Mary ran quickly to tell the disciples the good news that Jesus is alive, let us be serious in proclaiming this good news!
