Finished

 

"…“It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit" - John 19:30

 

I wondered if I could do anything for the Lord at sixty. I thought, at this age, who is going to call me for ministry, that I have to live honestly. But eight years later a sudden call came from the village missionary movement. I accepted very happily. Because I am happy that I have the opportunity to do God's will even at this age. I have been working here for more than five years. I have committed myself for God to work in the ministry till the end of my life, if it is His will.

 

Jesus Christ said the word finished because he has completed the purpose for which the Father sent him to earth. He said, "My food is to fulfil the will of the Father." He lived thus and gave himself up as a life sacrifice and completed it. Before he could say the word "finished" the veil was torn in two. It signifies the union of mankind with the Father.

 

Thus, before the dust returns to the ground that was before it and the spirit goes back to the God who gave it, remember him in your youth (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Because God knows and examines our every action. Not only that, Ecclesiastes 12:14 says that he will bring every deed and every secret thing into judgment, whether it is good or bad. Therefore, with God as our partner, washed by His blood every day, we fulfill God's plan and move forward with faith, and I can proudly say that I finished my race like Paul.

 

Dear reader, God has a purpose for you in this world. Know that purpose and try to fulfil it. God will fulfil your wish. God, who has graced me so far to fulfil my devotion to him, will also grace you. As Christ finished the will of the Father, we can finish the race with victory, as Paul said he finished the race.
