Think of the sacrifice

 

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" - Romans 5:8

 

Once upon a time a severe tornado hit western Pennsylvania. The people there screamed and hid themselves in the pits. A man named David Kosteva was refereeing a game at a stadium during the storm. His sister's daughter was standing nearby watching the game. Realizing the tragedy of the storm, David Kosteva immediately dragged the girl down into the pit and lay down on its surface. In the blink of an eye, the gust of wind swept him away. The little girl was saved. David sacrificed his life for his sister's daughter.

 

The Apostle Paul writes to the Romans like this. That God demonstrates his love for us because Christ died for us while we were still sinners. That is, while we were still living in sin, God gave His only Son to die on the cross to redeem us by His infinite love. There is no other remedy to free us from sin. He died for us so that we might have eternal life.

 

Beloved reading this! If we believe and realize the truth that He died for our iniquity and sin, we will no longer be playing with sin. Let us rise from the sinful life of living as we please. Let us think of the sacrifice made by the Lord. Let us repent for our sins. And think what are we going to do for Jesus who redeemed us from sin? Let us be ready to declare to others the certainty of the forgiveness of sins which we have freely received. The cross is a symbol of sacrifice! Jesus Christ gave his life as a sacrifice on the cross. What are we going to do in return for the great scacrifice?

Let us bear the cross

Let us proclaim the liberation of the cross.
