Spirit or flesh?

 

"…to be spiritually minded is life and peace" - Romans 8:6

 

The mind of the Spirit is the mind of Christ Jesus. We think it is difficult to follow the teachings of Jesus during these days and age. Those who preach, do the follow what they preach? We doubt that. It is the mind of the flesh that prevents us from receiving the mind of the Spirit. What the scriptures say is death to the flesh, disregarding others are living by considering it better and more admirable to please the flesh and to please people than to live according to the scriptures, i.e. to please God.

 

A few admit their flaws. But does not want to come out of flaws. For example, being bold in vain pride, anger, envy, and harm, they agree that these are in me. But I don't want to get rid of it.

 

A monkey reached out to take his favorite peanuts inside a glass bottle. It took a handful peanut then tried to take its hand out. But it could not because the opening was small.Eventhough, it did not give up the peanut and got struck. Similarly, many act with the attitude that this is their nature and I can't get out of it, as if they are heartless and run away even though they don't want to take out their hands. They think they are spiritual. Those who do not have the mind of the Spirit do not know that they are hurting many with the weapons of the carnal mind, lies, pride, and envy.

 

Many, knowing the truth, engage in daring sin. As Satan deceived Eve, they are deceived by Satan and are deceiving many. As Satan's tricks are not unknown to us, these are also gifted by Satan's trickery. Are the talents we possess born of the carnal mind? Is it caused by the thought of the Spirit? Let's check that. Do we accuse the innocent with the intention of harming others? Do we call that which is, and that which is not, that which is not? Do we want our offerings to be pleasing to God? Are we at peace with anyone? Let's think that. Otherwise, our dedication will be like a leper's hand offering. Therefore, let us put on the mind of the Spirit.
