Who is our protection?

 

"Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help" - Psalm 146:5

 

Isn't this verse a hope for us who set foot in the second month of this year 2024? When we trust in the Lord God, He will guide us in the right way. He protects us from harm. "He shall escape destruction and pestilence." "Though a thousand fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, it shall not come near thee." "Wicked shall not befall thee, and pestilence shall not come near thy tent," Yea, in Him is our protection.

 

A dog in the forest believed that a fox would protect him. But the fox ran away when the wolf came. The dog immediately came to the wolf thinking that the wolf would be safe for him. But when the tiger came the wolf disappeared. Thinking that the tiger is stronger, the dog sought the protection of the tiger. But the tiger ran away at high speed when it saw the hunter coming with a gun. So it is useless to rely on animals. The dog felt this hunter is my protection and walked behind him wagging his tail.

 

In this world, the relationship of people, money, material, work, study, status are all helpful to us in our view! But the strength or confidence that comes from these is not constant. These change in every situation, and can't sustain and lead us back. Only the Lord who is with in us will sustain us in all situations!

 

A man of God said, "This God is our God for ever and ever, and will guide us through death." Yes, let our faith and trust be in our God and not in the people around us. May our eyes always look to Him. You will get protection from him not only for this month, but for a lifetime.
