Act boldly
"And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel" - Ephesians 6:20
In 1973, Uganda was ruled by President Idi Amin. He used to shoot Christians. At that time, a preacher named Soph Sembasky was preaching. One day the police came into the church with guns, dragged him at gunpoint and said we are going to kill you. Tell us your last wish. The pastor told I want to pray for you, with a trembling voice. He prayed that the Lord should graciously forgive you all for this thing that you are going to do. The leader looked at the people gathered there. Many widow women stood around him. After seeing them, he asked the pastor what is the reason why they are so happy? Pastor said “Death is not the end for us”. He said death is the beginning of eternal life. Then pastor prayed. The leader accepted the Lord that day.
The slave girl who was taken as a slave to the house of the Syrian commander and worked, eventhough "she is a little slave girl" She told the way to get rid of Nagaman's leprosy. So he was saved. The Syrians saw the glory of God through Naaman. Naaman accepted the Lord that day. Even Paul speaks boldly in prison, on the streets, in homes, and even in courts and before kings. That is why we were able to create so many congregations. He dedicated his life to Christ. Yes, God also gives us courage when we commit ourselves completely. Sow boldly and reap boldly. But in these days the appreciation, zeal and courage for Christ has diminished among the people.
Even if there is a small resistance, we are afraid and hesitate as if we will loose our life. When we speak and act without hesitation, God acts from within us. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body only. Jesus says fear him who is able to destroy soul and body in hell. A man without courage is like a dull knife. He can do nothing, he is of no use. God accomplishes His plan with those who are courageous and zealous.
