An accepting father
"…how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place" - Deuteronomy 1:31
Rekha and her mother lived in a village. There was no school to study 6th standard there. So they joined her in a hostel. When she went there and started studying, she joined the friends there. Her lifestyle changed. She hated her poor mother. She used to ignore her mother by saying her not to come to the hostel every month but send the money through someone else. She would go to a friend's house on vacation, otherwise she would stay in the hostel. Years passed like this. 10th class public exam was approaching. She had itching and sores all over her body due to skin allergies. All her friends hated being with her. They asked her to leave the hostel. They sent word to their mother. Rekha's mother came late, Rekha thought, "Mother won't come; I haven't been going home since class 7, so my mother must have forgotten. No one will accept me when I'm sick." But mother came with affection and took Rekha to the hospital and brought medicine and took care of her with love.
Similarly in the Bible, when the youngest son goes far away from his father and spends his money in the work of tending pigs, he is struggling to get even bran and returns to his father without proper clothes, the father runs and ties his neck. Accepts as a son. He arranges a party. In the same way, no matter how worse sin we have done or how many sins we have committed, when we come back to God and ask for His forgiveness, God is eagerly waiting to accept us. He embraces us as we return to Him. So turn to him today. He is ready to accept you as you are. Come as you are.
Dear reader who is thinking, Where would I go? Who will accept me? Do you think that only suffering and sorrow are surrounded everywhere you look? Come to Jesus. He is ready to accept you as his child and carry you on his shoulders. Come to the Lord Jesus Christ and be blessed.
