Warning is ignored. . . .
"...Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” - 1 Cor. 10:12
Suddenly a terrible explosion was heard on the ship. The cause of the explosion was the explosion of the ship's engine boiler as water surged into the cabin while the engineers and crew were engaged in their work. Alas, the engineers were shocked, wondering if this was a sign of death. The huge ship Titanic broke in two and slowly sank into the dark ocean water. It was one of the greatest tragedies in the history of sea.
If we think today of the cries of hundreds of people who were struggling to death on that dark night, in the ice-covered sea water, it leaves us inert for a minute. A very sturdy, well-built, and declared unsinkable ship, the Titanic sank on her maiden voyage! When they investigated the reason for this, they understood one thing clearly. That is, the ship Californian, which was sailing ahead of the Titanic, reported sightings of ice blocks nearby. Next the weather gauge also warned of low temperatures. But the warning was ignored. Titanic, heralded as the unsinkable colossal ship, was driven into the danger zone at full speed in the middle of the night. What a pity!
God warns us about the consequences of our private and public sin! Not twice! He warns many times. But we are lethargic about those! We keep ignoring the warnings from God. We think, "My life path is right, I don't have all these sins. This message is not for me." We think beyond ourselves, "I am a hereditary Christian, will I be forsaken at the second coming? It will never happen."
Beloved! Even though death and judgment lie before us, we boldly move forward, ignoring the warnings that come rushing on us. Let's remember one thing. Death is impartial. So let's not rely on our own strength but depend on God's grace. Let us humble ourselves and decide to listen to God's leading. Let us be careful not to act arrogantly and meet destruction.
