Normal seed
"Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days" - Ecclesiastes 11:1
On January 6, 1850, England was hit by a blizzard. Caught in a blizzard, a young man ran to a nearby church for protection. The pastor was not present on Sunday evening service which was being held. A tailor who was a member of the congregation was conducting the service. He started evangelism. The repeated insistence was, "Look unto Me, and ye shall be saved." The boy who had fled the blizzard was standing behind the door unwilling to listen to the preaching. As the tailor stood in the pulpit, he said to the boy, "Look to Jesus." He was neither a scholar nor a preacher but a very ordinary man. But filled with the Holy Spirit, he preached with extraordinary power. These words, which were said to him especially in a place where there were many, moved the youth greatly. The seed of the scriptures, "Look unto Jesus," not only kept ringing in his heart, but began to work in him. In the end, the young man turned to Jesus. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you know who that boy is? He was C.H. Spurgeon. He was widely used in preaching and gained fame.
Solomon who lived in this world and experienced everything says. Put your food on the waters, and after many days you will see its fruit! Bread is the seed! If we plant the seed in a watery area we can see its fruit after many days. We can reap its benefits only if we sow in watery areas. On the contrary, if we sow in droughty areas where there is no water, we will not see results.
Beloved, the humble seed sown by the tailor bore great fruit. Undoubtedly he sowed the seed. God made it fruitful. There is probably an area to be planted in this world. But there are no men to sow. Islands await his word. Who is responsible for such areas is you and me. Let's sow the seed of Jesus! Even if we cannot see the reward here, we will see it in heaven some day.
