Small seeds

 

"The sower sows the word" - Mark 4:14

 

Although the banyan seed is the smallest of all seeds, it sprouts into a large banyan tree. Similarly in the scriptures we will see today that small things done by some people brought great awakening, salvation and liberation.

 

1) Syria besieged Samaria and there was a deadly famine. Because of God's mighty hand, the enemy army fled from Samaria. Four lepers entered the camp of the Syrian and took food and belongings from the tents and distributed them. They felt that it was a crime to delay in announcing this good news to the courtiers and quickly announced the good news to the courtiers. Outcasted by society, they fear nothing. (2 Kings 7:1-16)

 

2) Obadiah, the court inspector of King Ahab, made Ahab and Elijah meet at the risk of his own life. The result was a great awakening among the Israelites on Mount Carmel. (1 Kings 18:1-39)

 

3) Paul and other prisoners traveled to Italy when the ship was about to be damaged. Paul spoke the words of God and strengthened all the 276 people on the ship who were longing to survive. As a result, everyone escapes and reaches Melita Island. The gospel reached that island.

 

Beloved! Let us proclaim the freedom that Jesus has given us as good news to our countrymen like the four lepers without having a low attitude of what can I do for the Lord. A worker can be used to have a strong awakening in a place like Obadiah. May God's words encourage those who are hopeless to survive to do what they have to do! If you sow the scriptures with tears and prayer like the above people, through some small thing, the great Lord who is the master of the harvest will order a great harvest.
