Word as seed

 

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit" - Proverbs. 18:21

 

The wife of a great judge called Preacher D. El Moody to her home and said, "Sir, preach the gospel to my husband and lead him to salvation." The only confusion is how a dull preacher can address a highly educated judge. He fasted and prayed for it. Then he came to that house and said, "Judge, tell me after you are saved" and left. The judge's wife was disappointment! And was angry on the preacher that he had said only one word without preaching the whole gospel. But you know what happened? The preacher's words brought a great stir in the judge's heart. The judge was saved that very day. Alleluia!

 

God the Father created all things by His words on the earth which was disordered and empty. In the second chapter of Genesis we read that God created the animals and brought them to Adam to see what he would name them. God is watching and listening to the words that come out of our mouths. (Malachi 3:16)

 

What sharp weapons came forth from the mouth of Jesus! There was fire of the Holy Spirit in the words, "Be still not a prey," "Come out, Lazarus," "I have will, and be clean." His words are kind. There were pitiful and gracious ones. It has comforted, wounded and healed many.

 

Beloved! When seeds are sown in the field, the life inside the seed grows like itself to produce trees or plants that can bear some more seeds and bear fruit. A man reaps what he sows. Through the words we speak, we can win many to Jesus. So let's avoid thinking and talking about negative things and report positive things with faith. Let us consecrate our tongue to the Lord. "Lord, if I speak, let the words be filled with the love of Calvary. Let me speak according to your will" become our daily prayer. In this way we will sow the seeds of the word and prepare to reap souls.
