Forgive

 

"And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you " - Eph. 4:32

 

Harry writes about an incident that happened when he was 15 years old. He asked “Father permit me to drive the car while returning home after Sunday worship”. He also gave permission to drive the car. Unfortunately Harry lost control at a turn and crashed the car into a lamp post. This caused $1000 worth of damage to their car. Harry was so scared and embarrassed. Water steamed out of the radiator with a whooshing sound. Harry father turned to him and said, "It's okay, okay, I forgive you." Although it cost a lot of money to repair our car, my father never mentioned the incident even once in my life. My father happily allowed me to drive our car after I got my driver's license. Through a good father who loved unconditionally, the erring son got to experience the magnificence of forgiveness. This Harry became a famous writer in the American Christian world.

 

Beloved in Christ! In today's scripture we read that as Christ forgave you, so you also must forgive one another. Forgiving those who have interfered in our lives and harmed us is not a natural thing. Bitterness, fury, and revenge are what fill a man's heart. Among these, forgiving others may seem impossible to us. We can accept others only if we have good maturity in Christ and the light of the scriptures. True followers of God cannot be filled with the fruits of the flesh. Forgiveness is a divine attribute. Achieving this requires some hard work of the heart. Keep planting the seed of forgiveness. You too will be forgiven.
