A grateful heart 

 

"…be thankful" - Colossians 3:15

 

In the war at Vietnam, an army commander tried to save a combat veteran who worked under him and was injured and died on the spot. His parents were informed about it and they arranged a gathering in his honor. The combat veteran was also invited to the meeting. He left very late, well drunk, and ate the food indecently, without even a word of thanks on his behalf to the leader who had saved him. Not only that, after finishing the meal, he left the place without even thanking the family that had invited him. As soon as he was gone, the commander's mother burst into tears and cried, "My son gave his life for this ungrateful man." Similarly, in the scriptures, it is written about ungrateful people. When the savior Jesus Christ entered a village, ten lepers came against him and stood at a distance and shouted "Have mercy on us". Jesus healed the ten. Only one of them, who went to show himself to the priest to check his healing, came back and gave thanks to Jesus. Jesus asked “ Were not ten made clean! Where are the other nine?” Yes, the Lord expects a grateful heart from us.

 

Beloved! How many of us come to the end of the year with a grateful heart? How many people started running with us earlier this year, but not many are alive today. Have you thanked the Lord for keeping us alive until this very moment? Do we plan to sit down as a family and take time to thank Him as we plan to take a family trip for the holidays? Let us continue to thank Jesus, the King of Kings who has saved us from so many dangers, accidents, deficiencies and diseases and has protected us till this moment. Alleluia!
