Good news

 

"…And a good report makes the bones healthy" - Proverbs 15:30

 

Lily's husband served in the army in the frontier force. But no money or information came from him for many months. So Lily went for a job to save her two children. Her small income was not enough to buy her children dresses, cakes and other things for Christmas. Then came a good news from Lily's husband. It means "I'll be home tomorrow"! All her worries flew away. He came and bought everything for his wife and children. Their hearts swelled in joy.

 

Even in the scriptures there was no prophet after the prophet Malachi for almost 400 years to speak the word "the Lord speaks". There are no pious kings. In the Bible it was seen as a dark age. At this time suddenly comes a good news from heaven. The good news is that Jesus, the Son of God, was born as a saviour to give himself for the whole world! " As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country." (Prov. 25:25).

 

Beloved! May we also love the gospel. Every day as we read the scriptures, we will know the unspeakable benefits, blessings, and excellences we have in Christ. So let's expect good news from heaven every day through the scriptures. It is not the petty happiness of sin, nor the temporary peace that money can buy!

 

One day we too were living in darkness, sin and curse without this good news of Jesus. As soon as we got this good news, our life became happy. But even today many are living without hearing the gospel and without experiencing the joy that comes from the gospel. Are you ready to carry this good news to such people? Let's act today!
