Children

 

"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it..." - Proverbs 22:6

 

A widowed mother visits her son in prison. There the son refuses to come saying that he does not want to see his mother. The next day the son is taken to court for the crime of theft. His mother comes there too. But the son did not want to see the mother. The mother insisted and the son came to visit. He said, "You are the reason foe my condition." Mother looks at him crying. The son said, "You did not scold me when I used to steal small things when I was young, that's why I continued to steal." Then the mother said, "You are right. I did not scold you out of love for you. But now I realize the blunder I did."

 

Yes, even in the scriptures we see a priest named Eli. He worked in the temple. But we read in the scriptures that his sons, Ophni and Phinehas, did not please God. As a result, they died on the same day when they were young. Likewise, Joel and Abijah, the sons of the prophet Samuel, who judged Israel for 40 years, were greedy and perverting justice. We see in chapter 8. Thus those who were supposed to be judges were ignored.

 

Yes, how do we raise our children? Do we give and raise in the hands of the Lord? Or do we nurture with emphasis on worldly things? Let's think. Job was righteous before his children. And thinking that the children might have sinned, he prayed to God for them too. Let us also lead our children in an honest way in the truth from an early age! Let's try to create a generation that will run zealously for the Lord without dressing up in this world of illusion! Amen!
