Closer…

 

"…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,…" - Hebrews 12:1

 

God looks at the heart of every individual. Sin stains our hearts. What if the inside is dirty and miserable? That is how sin changes our hearts. This sin does not come into us only by the actions of our hands and feet. These come through the eyes, through the ears, and why, through thought even.

 

When we say thought we should think "how close is sin"! Just start thinking lightly and it will go beyond our control. We leave the real world and immerse ourselves in the fantasy world. There are many things within our hands like phone, youtube, face-book to induce wrong thinking. Nebuchadnezzar wondered it was Babylon the Great that he had built and turned into a beast. David saw with his eyes and fell into sin. Samson knowingly took the honeycomb from the dead lion's body and ate the honey and fell into sin. Then he fell into lust. In this way, sin becomes pleasure and makes us fall so that we cannot run. It is not the big rock visible in the distance, but the small stone lying at our feet that makes us stumble! Like that, there is a chance that we fall into small sins like lying and phone calls that are close to us.

 

Dear reading this! Are you indifferent to minor sins? Or do you mean that I have not yet fallen into the approaching sins and only have a slight chafing? Get off immediately or it will cause an accident. The sin that is close at hand rubs away and does not let go of us. It climbs into us and drowns us. Be careful. ". . . let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him." (Hebrews 12:1)
