Disgusting

 

"Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in their ways are His delight" - Proverbs 11:20

 

There are many things in the scriptures that are "detestable to the Lord". Let us meditate on some of them and examine ourselves. Detestable things to God

 

1. False balance: "A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a smooth weight is his delight." (Prov. 11:1) Generally this verse is the meant to be followed by merchants handling scales. The Lord cannot bless them if they have the wrong weights or measuring steps. It is essential that we walk faithfully in all things we do with our hands, to be blessed. Because the faithful man will receive the perfect blessing.

 

2. Those who are of a contrary heart: "Those who are of a contrary heart are an abomination to the Lord." (Prov. 11:20) Those who walk in a way that is not honest and not pleasing to the Lord, that is, those who do things that are untrue and contrary to justice, are abomination to the Lord. God hates liars who judge the righteous as guilty and the guilty as righteous. He is not only abominable, but also punishes those who pervert justice by seeking mercy. Let us not do such abominable things, and let us not support them.

 

3. Lying lips: "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord" (Prov. 12:22) There are many who speak lies fluently. They do not even realize that this is wrong and against God. The scriptures warn that all liars will share in the sea of fire and brimstone which is the second death. Nothing that practices falsehood will enter the kingdom of God. (Revelation 21:27)

 

4. The Way and Sacrifice of the Wicked: The way and sacrifice of the wicked and their memories are an abomination to the Lord. He loves the one who follows righteousness. The Lord hears the prayer of the pure and is pleased with it.

 

Finally, a proud person is an abomination to God. So let us be humble and throw away the things that are abominable to God and live pleasing to God and inherit God's blessings. Amen!
