God's presence

 

"…I will never leave you nor forsake you, He has said" - Hebrews 13:5

 

Is God with us in certain situations of life? Isn't it? There is a question mark that comes to God's children. Let us learn through the Scriptures the reasons why we cannot always feel the presence of God whose promise is "I will never leave you."

 

Grief: Mary Magdalene was so saddened by the death of Jesus that she could not recognize when Jesus appeared to her. Jesus walked with the two disciples who walked to Emmaus. They were also sad and did not feel the presence of Jesus. Because they do not know the verses of Jesus and the words about the resurrection. The scriptures about the God of all comfort will comfort us in times of grief and sorrow. So how important it is to know them!

 

Fear: Fear is a negative emotion. Extinguishes faith. After the miracle of feeding the five thousand with five loaves and two fish, Jesus told them to go ahead of him to the other side. When Jesus walked on the sea and came to them in a stormy sea and the boat was sinking, they cried out in fear when they saw him. unaware of his presence. They had no faith that the journey which was instructed by Jesus will be taken care by him. They did not remember the miracle he had done before. David says I will trust in the Lord in the day of my fear. Let us trust the Lord and His promises!

 

Transfiguration: When Peter and some of his disciples were transfigured and went fishing in the Sea of Tiberias, they worked hard all night and caught nothing. They could not recognize Jesus standing on the shore at dawn. But they knew Jesus when he demonstrated his love by miraculously catching 153 large fish. He makes us feel the love of Jesus through many things even though we are in a troubled sitiuation. Then let us feel His presence and return to Him.

 

God, who never changes, never leaves us! Never abandon us! Alleluia!
