Entrusted responsibility

 

"…and then He will reward each according to his works" - Matthew 16:27

 

There is a strange ancient story. When God created this world, He appointed each angel to take care of each creation. He appointed angels with different responsibilities,to take care of sea creatures, to wild beasts, to wild animals, to trees, and to grass. The angel assigned to the grass went to this little grass , he thought what should I do and left it unattended. The grass soon dried up. Without grass, goats, cows and deer living in the forest starved. You were careless thinking that the work given to you was small. Do you see the importace of your work now?

 

In this way, many people today are careless thinking that the work given to them is small, big, trivial or great. One is considered as important work and the other as unimportant work. It may be humans who have given you this responsibility and job. But the Lord put the idea in their mind to appoint you eventhough there are many who work. Nothing will be given to you without God's permission. How are you fulfilling the responsibility that God has entrusted to you? When you carefully fulfill the responsibility entrusted to you, there is a reward for it. Elisha who plowed with twelve oxen (1 Kings 19:19) was so wealthy. But when he follows anointed prophet Elijah , he is careful to do all the work for him and even to pour water on Elijah's hands."If you find a man careful in his work, he will not stand before neighbours, but before kings" (Proverbs 22:29).

 

Beloved, there is a heavenly blessing behind the responsibility and work given to you. For do not forget that this responsibility, this work, is commanded to you by the God of heaven. Christ is your master. Don't look at worldly wages and lose heavenly blessings by looking at man. If you do your work carefully wherever you are, you will get heavenly blessings. You don't have to go looking!
