Great race

 

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith…" - 2 Timothy 4:7

 

At the age of 103, Mankaur became India's first female athlete to compete in the 2019 World Masters Athletics Championships in Poland. Amazingly, Mankaur won gold in all four events - javelin, shot put, 60m dash and 200m. Even more surprisingly, she ran faster than she did in 2017. Kaur successfully completed her second century as a great-grandmother.

 

The apostle Paul wrote to his youngest disciple Timothy that he was nearing the end of his life. The time came for me to leave this world. (2 Tim. 4:6,7) “I have fought the good fight. I finished the run. I kept the faith. The first crown of righteousness laid up for me,” Paul explains his dramatic achievements to the younger disciple Timothy.

 

Beloved! How many things have we done for the Lord in your lives? Do we step aside saying that I am old and I can't do anything? Do we want to stand up and shine for the Lord as a good witness and a lamp where we are? Even Jesus Christ who encouraged Paul in his time of weakness, "My grace is sufficient for you and my strength is made perfect in your weakness" is with us today. Therefore, age is never a barrier to complete our race with excellence. So, let's throw away the excuses. Realizing that weakness, suffering, or age cannot stop us from living for God, we will continue to run our race better with God's help. Lord helps us.
