Zealous

 

"But it is good to be zealous in a good thing always;…" - Galatians 4:18

 

We remember Daniel's zeal for not eating what was defiled. Apart from that, he is zealous about God's power and about God. The king is disturbed by the dream. Everyone is invited to reveal the dream and its meaning. It is here that Daniel zealously reaches to the king as the revealer of hidden things and he is called for the same. Then Daniel prays and asks his friends to pray too. He gives thanks to God and professes his faith and prays fervently. That means wisdom and power belong to God. Nero prays that he gives wisdom to the wise.

 

God watches Daniel's zeal and reveals to him the dream and its meaning, saying the the Lord himself revealed what the king dreamt. Because of the humbleness "This is impossible for me, it is God who reveals the secret" by saying so he exalted God and not himself. He had daily relationship with God and knowing God was his practice. So, Daniel's zeal for God kept burning. No matter how many obstacles came, he did not give up. It is recorded in the scriptures that Daniel prayed three times because he knew that reading the scriptures and prayer brought us close to the God.

 

Beloved! Today we are zealous for many things, are we zealous for the Lord? Otherwise, it means that we don't know God the way we should know, and the relationship with Him is lacking. Today we are in the last days. God expects each of us to rise up as zealous people for Christ. Let's mend our relationship with God and stand up as zealous for God before kings and everyone in authority. Raising the army of Christ by ourselves in our country!
