Be the light 

“You are the light of the world…” – Matthew 5:14

Fanny Crosby had been able to see only for her first six weeks of her life. It is very sad to know that she lost her sight to an eye infection as she was given wrong treatment. She had such a sharp sense of smell that she could identify and flower by its very fragrance. She was raised by her grandmother, she grounded Fanny in Christian Principles and helped her memorize long passages and many chapters from the books of the Bible. There by her memory had been remarkable and it paved way for her spiritual growth. At the age of 15, she was admitted to the Newyork institute for the blind. Her record there was such, that after graduation she was asked to teach at the institute and she rendered a dedicated service. She glorified the name of the Lord by her life by being a prolific poet, lyricist, hymnist and composer writing more than 8000 hymns. 

In the Bible when Jesus drew near to Jericho, a blindman was healed by Him. After regaining sight, he followed Jesus, glorifying God and became a son of light. On seeing the change in him, people gave praise to God. 

Yes, beloved in Christ, although Fanny could not see the bright world with her eyes, Jesus made her life a light in the Lord. The blindman who was begging on the road way received light and walked as a son of light and the name of the Lord was glorified. There are many people in power of darkness in the world even today. They are bound by sins, curses, diseases, tears and problems and they pass away without being delivered from them. God has delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the son of His love in whom we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins. Thus, God has made us a light to bring salvation to the end of the earth. Let us bring the light to people who are in dark so that they will become sons of light. Hallelujah!
