Obedience

 

"Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it" - Proverbs 22:6

 

Let's see how a girl born in an ordinary family becomes a titular queen. Esther was the most beatiful girl of the crowd that was being taken as prisoners from Jerusalem. This Esther has almost no background. In other words, an orphan. It is in this situation that a close relative named Mordecai adopts her. His seriousness in preparing Esther for the position of queen further shows his responsibility. He puts so much effort until he entrusts her to the head of the government, Hegai. Beauty in women is the greatest thing to be preserved. Mordecai did perfect job until Esther, filled with inner, revealed beauty, was given into the hands of the right person.

 

As Esther grew up with Mordecai, she listened and obeyed him. Similarly, when Hegai was in the palace, she obeyed his orders. Esther asked nothing more but took what Hegai had appointed, even though, under the condition that everything she asked for in the place would be provided to her.

 

Today's teenage girls are obsessed with lipstick, make-up, eye-liner, nail-polish, make-up and jewellery. Among young women of this nature, Esther lived a completely different life, despite the fact that she had everything to enjoy. The reason was Mordecai's upbringing.

 

Beloved, the scriptures warn us. "Beauty is vain, but the woman who fears the Lord will be praised." How true is this verse. Dear young brothers and sisters! Let us learn to live in obedience and dedication to our parents. Parents, you too have to take responsiblity to guide your children in the right way. Let us commit ourselves to live for God like Esther, Deborah, Joshua and Daniel who swim against the world.
