Sacrificial offering

 

"…so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.." - 2 Cor. 9:7

 

An announcement was made in a church, that you could offer whatever you wish,by finacially helping to spread the gospel of Christ to the people living in the forest who do not know God. While all the people of the congregation were silent, a girl named Mahi who was in a corner of the chruch came forward and placed the two crutches that she used to walk on the offering plate. It was auctioned for $600 and returned to her by the bidder. Seeing this, others also volunteered to donate sacrificially to God. This money was given to Vincent Freea, a missionary, who led many people from different countries like Spain, Switzerland, France and Italy on the path of salvation for 21 years.

 

The poor widow in Luke 21 offered the two coins she had in the offering box. She did not keep what she had for herself but gave it to God. Jesus Christ said that she gave everything she had for her to live. Hence, she received blessings from God.

 

Give, and it will be given to you. (Luke 6:38) The gospel will spread rapidly if we offer for evangelism, and the wicked hear the gospel and receive salvation. Yes, there will be great joy in heaven when a sinner repents. Don't you want to be a part of that happiness?

 

The scriptures say that if you give a pot of water, you will not go with out any result. Will God leave us alone when we give sacrificially for Him?

 

Beloved ones! What is our attitude towards giving today?Some say I wish to give. I don't have enough money for the myself, is a wrong thought. Let's give what we have as a sacrifice to God, thinking that God has a need. May we receive a fullfilled blessing.
