Calvary love

 

"I am crucified with Christ:… I live by the faith of the Son of God" - Galatians 2:20

 

If we have been redeemed by the blood of Christ and have accepted him as our personal savior, we must have his love within us. In today's meditation, shall we read the words written by Amy Carmichael under the title "Calvary Love" and examine ourselves to see if they are found in us?

 

If I speak an unloving word, think an unloving thought, and don’t feel guilty about it, I have not know the love of Calvary.

 

If I fear,that I may lose the friendship of some (or) lose my reputation as a beloved, and don’t speak the truth kindly. I have yet to know the love of Calvary.

 

If I fall comfortably into the deadly vice of self-pity, and am always anxious about myself, and cannot bear all things courageously with the help of God's grace, I am yet ignorant of the love of Calvary.

 

No matter how you shake a vessel full of sweet water, note a single drop of the water that spills out is bitter. If, therefore, the occasion suddenly shakes me and makes me speak impatient and unloving words, I am still ignorant of the love of Calvary.

 

If I obtain bitterness when someone accuses me unjustly, if I forget the fact that if they knew as I knew me they could accuse me more than the crime they now accuse me of. I am still ignorant of the love of Calvary

 

When I have to undergo harsh things like being treated hard by others, isolated, put in unwanted situations for God's service (or) when God needs me, if I try to avoid it, I still don't know the love of Calvary.
