EMPTY BOTTLE
"And the water was spent in the bottle,…" - Genesis 21:15
We don't notice an empty bottle which is lying in a corner of the cupboard at home. But God is not one who leaves an empty bottle as it is. He notices the bottle and fills it. Shall we see how?
In the scriptures, Hagar trusted Abraham. At last she was sent away by Abraham, who given her somefood and water. Wandering in the wilderness the water in the bottle was over. When Hagar saw that the child was dying due to lack of water, she left the child alone and wept. The child cried on other side due to thirst. God heard the child's cry. He also found an empty bottle over there. When you trust people, you feel void and tearful. It can even lead to death without any care. But the Lord promises to give life faithfully without hating or disregarding an empty bottle. He kept a spring of water to fill the empty bottle in her hand. Not only her bottle was filled, but that spring quenches the thirst of many in Hagar's quest till this day.
Beloved! Likewise, trusting human will make you empty-handed some day.If you do not trust the Lord, but trust in men, the church, and the pastor, you are in danger zone. Even if you are good today, one day you will suffer. Surrender yourself today and your tears will be wiped away. He will make your vessel overflow. Not only that, you will share your testimony and the blessing with many.
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1) calls the Lord. Have you become an empty bottle by trusting man? Come to the free giver. He is able to make springs for you even in the wilderness. Come and be filled.
