Protecting God

 

"...When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him" - Isaiah 59:19

 

In the South African jungle, still tribal people are found. They train their children to accustom and live bravely in the forest. Among the training one is, the father would take the child to a dense forest and ask him to sit inside a hollow hole of a tree trunk and leave the place. As the light fades, the child will be frightened by the sound of wild animals. Sometimes wild animals come and roam over there. Some of them will approach the child, the child will start screaming and crying. When the beast comes very close to the child, a poisonous arrow hits through the body of the beast and it falls down. Who saved the child? Who killed the beast? The loving father! Yes, he didn't leave the boy alone. He was keenly watching him with bow and arrow, sitting at a distance. When danger approached, he acted promptly and saved him.

 

Yes, dear ones! The world we live in is a cursed earth by God. Everywhere we see wickedness and evil. The hearts of the sons of man tremble, when they see atrocities against women, terrorism, pestilences, accidents and tragedies. "What might happen?" It is disturbing to think about it. Can we see what God will do for His children in such a worldly situation? Just as the father protected his child in that forest so that no evil could touch him, so our heavenly Father is with us to protect us from this evil world. If we stay in the shelter of that great God, He will save us from the pestilence that destroys us, and we will also escape from the snare of sorrow. No evil will befall us, no plague will touch our house. He will send messengers to guard us in our ways. We can trample down the lion's terrible troubles and the devil's wiles. He will save us from danger. Alleluia!
