Cord of redemption 

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life” - John 3:16

The message of an evangelist began with the narration of a true incident. A certain boatman took his son and his friend for a sight-seeing boat tour in the sea. Being an experienced boatman, he was sailing the boat skillfully. But suddenly big waves dashed against the boat. As the sea was rough, quite unexpectedly, the boat capsized. His son and his friend were thrown into the sea. The boatman stayed with the boat. Soon the boat recovered on its own and remained afloat. His son and his friend were fighting for their life. As there was only one rope on the boat, only one of them could be saved. Moreover, he had to take a decision at once. If there was a delay, both would lose their lives. It dawned on him that only his friend must be saved as he had not accepted Jesus and received salvation. He threw the rope to his friend but shouted to his son “I love you dear son.” Soon his friend was saved but his son got drowned. But he was sure that his son would be with Jesus. 

The core concept of the Bible is that God gave His only begotten son Jesus Christ to the world. To forgive the sins of the human race, it was God’s will and desire that Jesus had to suffer and die on the cross. This is the divine love of God and the plan of God for the salvation of mankind. 

Friends, being aware of God’s plan for salvation, let us get set to carry the good news to the world. The boatman sacrificed his son to save his friend. God offered His son as a sacrifice on the cross for the sins of mankind. Having the love of God in mind, let us live for Christ. Let us spread and promote the unfathomable love of God far and near.
