Fight

 

"…I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me" - Romans 15:30

 

William Carey proved that a cobbler can change the world! It can even be said that he was born to pave the world. William Carey, who set foot at Calcutta on 1793, never returned to his country even once. After 40 years of hard work, he completed the Lord's work. Problems and struggles intertwined his life. His wife suffered from brain disorder. His child also died of illness. But William Carey turned all kinds of trials into achievements. Serampore University started by him has produced thousands of students. This university is still proclaiming his fame. During his life, he overcame all the struggles and sufferings with the help of the Spirit.

 

Jacob is the one who fought like this in the Bible and received blessings. He was alone on his way back from his uncle Laban's house. Then a man wrestled with him till daybreak, and seeing that he could not overcome him, touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. We read of Jacob's struggle with God and man.

 

Dear, reading this! We live on a cursed earth. We cannot easily get anything from anyone. Jacob fought alone and received divine blessings from God. Jacob was not the only one, but we know that many in the Bible fought for their gifts of grace. We should also fight and receive the graces of God for each day. We read that Jesus also struggled and prayed. We must strive to receive all the blessings we need. Let's continue to fight without giving up on God! Let's us succeed!
