Great loss

 

“…be content with what you have;…" - Hebrews 13:5

 

A man was fishing in his small boat and supporting his family. One day a huge fish got caught in his net. But it is very difficult to bring that big fish ashore with this small boat. However, out of greed he tried to bring the big fish to the shore. It was so difficult that he tried for a long time and got tired. In the end, with no other choice, he left it in the sea with net and escaped to survive. He did not get the few fish that he usually catches every day. His business was a loss for the rest of the day.

 

According to God's plan, Lot lost Abraham's good relationship because great desires entered the heart of Lot who was with Abraham. As a result, he was unable to maintain the comforts of property and had to end his last days of life in great depression. The devil entered Eve's heart with a great desire. She also accepted it. It was this greed that caused them to lose the high blessings God had in store for them. Eve's wish did not happen. The materialism that entered the heart of the well-functioning Kayasi deprived him of his good health and turned him into a leper.

 

Sometimes in our life great wishes and great dreams enter the heart and make us heavy. As you start desiring great wishes, your small desires is getting blocked. Desires for promotions are not wrong. But let us be careful that they do not become masks of greed. As the scriptures say, let's live contentedly in the place where we are.

 

Money is necessary. But thinking that money is the only security of life leads to many sins. In the above verse, it is not only said to be with sufficient mind, but there is also a promise that I will not leave you. Yes, let God, not money, be the anchor of our life's hope.
