Fort the child 

 

“Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children” - Luke 23:28

 

John Scudder was a famous doctor in the US. But he sacrificed his luxurious life and came to India as a missionary with his family. Not only that, his 9 children came to north India as missionaries too. For almost 600 years people from Scudder family came one by one to India for ministry. 

 

Once his friend asked Scudder, "What is the secret behind your family's dedicated ministry?" Do you know what Scudder said? " My wife was a prayerful mother. My children came into salvation through her prayerful life. She will spend my children's entire birthdays in prayer. She will specially pray for that child's salvation, education, health, future and so on." 

 

My dear mothers, do you have a witness like this? Mothers were the reason for the turning points in countless holy people. The likes of John Wesley, Abraham Lincoln were successful because of the prayer and witness of their prayerful mothers. Nowadays we write about our children's disobedience, witlessness, bad habits and lot of other prayer requests to the ministers and we share all these with our neighbours sad and crying and try to earn their sympathy but do we pray for hours? Do we allot a day for fasting and pray for them? 

 

Once a God fearing man said, " When I was a little boy, my mother woke up at 5 am daily, sat near my siblings and kept her hand on their head and prayed for us one by one. As a result we all are God fearing, respectable in the society and doing God's ministry." Yea mothers, be it your child's behaviour, education, job, marriage, whatever tiny things it may be. Firstly let God know about it. He is capable of changing everything.
